Um, not for all of the necklaces they chose. But I could in a day or so!
What better excuse to go home and play with the beads, right? This was one of the pieces I needed to coordinate with, and I was extra excited to figure out how to make earrings with the cool howlite double-holed spikes.
Luckily, I had two white spikes and two black spikes left over from the batch Cynthia sent to me. So, because to me, more is never too much, I made TWO pairs or earrings for the shop owners to chose between.
The black pair is now in the gallery. The white ones are mine, at least for the time being! There were a lot of little pieces of copper wire that sacrificed themselves as I tried to figure out how best to work with the two holes (cross them over above the bead? loop them around? cross them behind the bead somehow?), but I'm happy with the result. Next bead show, I'm on the lookout for more double-holed beads to experiment with!

I love that necklace. Such a unique design.
I thought matching was out of vogue but maybe not. Either way you have to accommodate your customer.
I seldom make "matches", Bobbie... but probably only because I am easily bored LOL. I think it's great that you had supplies to accommodate your customer. Sometimes they fall in love with one item in a set, but buy everything because they don't want to break up the set :)
Love how you've mastered these (large) 2 hole spikes! I still have a few left that I'm not sure what to do with .... but you've got some great ideas going here! definitely inspiring me
These are really fun earrings, Bobbie! And I love that necklace as much today as when you first presented it to us. When people ask for matching earrings, I get aggravated. If I wanted a matched set, I would have made one. I always say, "well certainly you have earrings at home that would compliment this" But usually they don't give in to that and insist on matching earrings. Ugh.
How cool are the two-holed howlite spikes! And how cool are the earrings you created with them! I'm so impressed. Your wirework is ingenious. I'd want both pair of earrings in my gallery for the necklace! I love how each reflect geometric aspects of your necklace design so clearly and complimentary, yet how each are structured so differently.
I often create ensembles, if I have the beads. I like your motto, more is good! Glad you had the beads to create the earrings. Chic and modern ensemble, very cool (they feel Latina to me!) earring art!
pretty nice blog, following :)
