Here's the good -- I bought new lights for my new tent, and it really made a huge difference in the visibility of the work. Sparkly goodness!

Here's the bad -- these table covers have been worked hard for the past couple of years, and they're looking rough. Wrinkly, saggy, puckered...I'd say they look like my butt and thighs, but bless their heart, they make my butt and thighs look good by comparison. Time to replace them. (The table covers, that is.)

And here's the ugly. We can use our tents indoors, without the tops. I was on the outer row, where the ceiling of the building slants down. As I raised the tent, I heard a worrisome thud. Thank goodness we didn't hit the sprinkler head, and thank goodness the acoustic panel dropped right back into place as the tent was lowered after the show. Whew!

The lights do make a difference. The table cloths I would go with a light aqua or tan. Yes it is a good thing you did not hit the sprinkler head that would have been a mess.

I love reading your posts, you crack me up. I would have been horrified when that tent pole hit the ceiling! I'd say a soft blue or green for the cloth color. Have an awesome week!

I cover my tables with tablecloths I got from JC Penneys a few years back. They are a rich tan and the fabric is fairly heavy. All my displays look fantastic on this tablecloth, it works with any color. Still they wrinkle in transit and I have yet to figure out how to take care of that.
I like the fact that you have lights. I want them too, but that's just one more thing to worry about. Maybe next year.

I love white or close relatives thereof for table covers. The white bounces back the light which is important for my old eyes.
I actually got a great deal on tablecloths from Target. On sale less that $20.00 and much cheaper than I could buy the fabric. Have to keep your eyes open though. White sales will be coming up if you can postpone the new covers until the sales start.
Also keep your eyes open for table runners at end of season sales- you can add seasonal touches to your plain white table cloths.
I have a great book idea for you ... "Tents, Beads & Thunderstorms" a beader's story of taking it on the road! Because I pretty sure it would be a hot seller with the beady crowd - we love to hear your stories!
I think your display is beautiful! I, too, would have panicked if my tent hit the ceiling tile! You were lucky, for sure! The lights are AWESOME! I just bought some battery operated-LED lights for my tables for my next two indoor shows-I am still a newbie at shows and will probably go through tons of props before I settle on what works for me! Best of luck with the remainder of your shows!
Funny thing, I have the same butt and thigh combo (what are the odds?) and am able to frighten small children building sand castles on the beach to the point that they race to their parent's arms unless I wear a full wetsuit, heading toward the ocean.
I would go for a pale blue or a neutral--if someone spills coffee on neutral you just have your first liver spot on your new pair of "leg tablecloths". So it's all good. Blue goes with your new lights however, and it is so soothing.
